How did you deal with the first class you ever taught leaving at the end of the year? Did you get attached to the students?
Anonymous askedTo be honest, I wasn’t particularly attached to any students my first year. They were great, but I was more focused on learning what I was doing. Last year I was definitely attached and even got a little teary-eyed. In fact, knowing those kids are moving up to the HS at the end of this year is very bittersweet for me. I am also very attached to my students this year. As a group, they are the sweetest kids I have had yet. Luckily I still get to see them around school next year.
